As the year gets colder, and as temperatures dip into the sub-freezing range in some places, it's worth remembering two things that seem opposed but are equally true:

First, that the seasonal cycle is completely natural, and the temperate and arctic worlds rely on periods of shedding and regrowth to maintain life;

Second, that the chills of autumn and winter can be extremely unpleasant and, without artificial warmth and protection, deadly.

2/2 The reason many of us are uneasy about Harris now is because sometimes we're not sure where she stands. At times she sounds more like Biden, and at others she sounds more hip and Progressive.
