My dad has always voted Republican. He's a businessman and does extremely well in his work. I got my work ethic from him and I'm very grateful for that. However I had to give pause when I found out he still voted for Trump. My own father put his needs/wants before my own and my mother. I can't have a civil conversation with him about almost anything because he thinks he's always right and everyone else is out to get him. There's more to it but all I ever wanted was to have a normal family dad
