lawmakers from several western states have introduced bills that would allow the president to declare a "smoke emergency," provide federal funding to establish clean air shelters and relocate vulnerable populations, and create a grant program for local community planning related to wildfire smoke. I think my problem with mainstream religion is that a lot of super religious people are convened that these "holy texts" have to been written by a higher power, and not a group of con artists who are obviously trying to make a quick buck.

Example 302,537 of why we should abolish the police.

Their purpose is to control Black and brown people, nothing else. This dude can't even show up to work sober. He was FIVE TIMES over the legal limit.

That doesn't happen in isolation but you bet in the five years he was a cop he arrested many people for DUIs.

Impeach Barrett, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch for lying to congress to get a robe. Expand the court to 11, one for each circuit they manage. There is ample precedent for this.

If Manchin and Sinema don't want to play, offer expanded power and funding if they do; pull them off committees, stop funding of federal programs in their states, and primary them if they don't

My "favorite" person of the week:

Pissed off about gas prices and "woke" Disney, at a gas station, filling up their mini-van for leg 1 of a trip to, you guessed it, Disney.

Meanwhile - we canceled our FL vacation (planned 6 months ago, our first "adult" trip in years). We told our airbnb host the truth, "we're sorry to cancel, but we don't feel comfortable bringing our money to your state".

You can protest in words, or in deeds, your choice. But deeds speak volumes.

Forming a SCOTUS that would make these changes has been decades in the making. Fixing it will take decades of hard and consistent work.

It starts by making fundamental changes in how Dems approach voters. Look at the polling on issues and match messaging to things global electorate feels are important to win WH and Congress positions so Dems can appoint more Justices. Looking only at what Dem electorate wants is why Dems are floundering in elections.
