Good result:
This is what has to happen when the major 'conservative' party veers off into radical authoritarianism: They have to be destroyed electorally. Otherwise, they never learn the lesson and just keep getting more radical.
We're lucky where I live because we can choose excellent Independent candidates who can actually do something in the Parliament.
But that's not how it works everywhere, so the only strategy is to vote for the lesser of two evils every time.
Look, bless his cotton socks. May we all find something in life that makes us as excited as young Lynton is about their Madges.
That said, let's just take a moment to note that this Australian monarchist super-fan chose to show his support by donning a jacket that *ONLY HAS THE BRITISH BIT OF THE FLAG ON IT*.
Kinda sums the whole thing up π€·ββοΈ
Good boi wants to vote too!*
* Or maybe he just wants the delicious #DemocracySausage his person is constitutionally obliged to get him on the way out of the polling place π
And for those who worry about compulsory voting, hereβs a thing:
On the left are 98 informal votes counted at the Ted Blackwood Community Centre. They can be mistakes or deliberately unfilled ballots, or whatever.
On the right, 2,569 total votes counted.
If you ask me, having a large turnout (always over 90% because you get fined if you donβt vote) and having 96% of voters make their view known is pretty bloody awesome.
The big Australian political parties keep trying to say that Independent MPs are a wasted vote but, yet again, voters are rejecting that lie in favour of an MP who actually represents their views and not the big party line.
In what used to be one of the safest Liberal (conservative) seats in the state, a locally based climate focused Independent is winning 2 to 1 π€·πΌββοΈ

Update:
Four days now, and nothing's crashed. On top of the stuff in the OP, I've used Soundtoys stuff, SSL, Melodyne (sparingly and tastefully, of course, and only because it was an emergency π π). All fine.
The Waves updater is behaving a little weirdly, but I think that's just the updater because they've put out multiple updates for it in the last few days so they must know something's wrong, and the plugins that I've used have all worked with no problem π€·ββοΈ
French-style ravioli?
Why, yes! Don't mind if I do!
Hmm...π€
Now hearing that over a 100 of this excellent independent's signs went missing last night.
Surely the old-school conservative Liberal Party of Sir Robert Menzies and John Howard wouldn't get involved in shenanigans like that? π
In the incredibly unlikely event that you're a voter in Pittwater NSW, please vote for Jacqui. She's genuinely good people.
Looks like things are going just great! π

And they escaped!
Oh lord. They've loaded the bases with a walk and Ohtani's up π¬

I like guitars a lot. Maybe too much.
I also do music production and mix engineering.
