For example, the great sport of Boccia. The skill is outstanding and the spirit is even better.
I consider it one of the greatest experiences of my life to have worked in the Sydney 2000 #Paralympics Village.
I met elite athletes who taught me, with inexhaustible good humour, that excellence comes in many different forms.
Please give the Paralympics a go if itβs on TV where you are. Itβs great competition in the original sense of the βFaster, Higher, Strongerβ Olympic motto ππ
So it's been a couple of hours now, and I think it's hands down the best non-used Strat I've played. They've figured out a winning formula with these American Vintage II 61 reissues. Super high-quality for the price. They've even made the nitro finish smell like a new Gibson, and it's glorious.
The only very minor nit I'd pick is that it has the glossy nitro finish on the back of the neck, and I find that a little sticky. Well, I should say it has the glossy finish.... for now π
So the man just came to the door with my new toy!
I saw it at the store last Friday and loved it but didn't buy it, but then changed my mind on Tuesday only to find that they'd sold the one I saw BUT there was another one at a store in Melbourne that I could have and...
Update:
There were only 2 grass fires in addition to the ones that were going yesterday, and thankfully, all of them are under control.
The weather's good enough that the hero Firies are out doing 5 hazard-reduction burns today. π
Only 3 fires so far, so that's good.
But all it'll take is for some arsehole to chuck his durry out his ute window* into the scrub and, whoosh!
* Australian for tossing his cigarette butt out the window of his pick-up truck
So it's 28ΒΊC with the wind gusting up to 70 km/h from off the hot interior of the continent.
What could go wrong? π₯
Wait a minute, giant fossil fuel company. Didn't you say that energy and petrol prices were high because of inflation? But now you're saying that your operating costs are lower and that you performed well because of "effective cost management *in spite of inflation*"?
So... none of this is happening because people started to catch on to your cynical little ruse, then? And the 14% drop in profits isn't just the 14% you added on to "exert upward pressure on price to maximise returns"?
Sure. π
There's that word "unseasonably" again.
Surely, they have to find something else soon.
Perhaps this would work: "exactly what the experts who've spent their working lives learning about this stuff have been screaming warnings from the rooftops about for decades" if brevity's not your thing... π€·ββοΈ
So struck by the fact that I put back (almost) all the tools where they belong for once that I had to snap a pic. ππ€£
It's a rare occurrence π
Enthusiast.
I like guitars a lot. Maybe too much.
I also do music production and mix engineering.
