😂

FWIW - the big buggers can't kill ya, and only the little Sydney Funnelweb is a worry.

I can report first-hand that those piddly redback ones (I think Yanks call them black widows?) can't even sting through a slightly leathered 50+ yo man's hand. You only have to check under the outside toilet seat for them, and she'll be right 👍

@DyDave It's funny, Sharon's sister, Sam (who emigrated to Kalgoorlie but now lives north of Brisbane) bought a farm a year or two back.

We were talking about this back in August when she came over to visit us. She was saying that she's got a Huntsman living in her mail box. One of her friends mentioned it when she was dropping party invites off for the kids - her sister just said "Oh that's George. He's ok."

I guess you lot just get used to things that would make the rest of us run? 🙀

@DyDave But what's mad, considering what you just said about the toilet, is that she sent this to us before she came over:

"I think three days ago I went to go toilet late at night and a huntsman was sitting on the outside of the toilet bowl just under the rim. I wasn't even worried, I just got the plunger and scared it away into the house. Lol Out of sight, out of mind! 🤣🤣🤣🤣"

Huntsmen are fine. It's the redbacks under the seat that'll sting your sensitive bits, and the Funnelwebs in your shoes that make you tap them every single time before putting them on.

The redbacks are also notorious for breeding in pool filter lids, which is how I know they can't sting through the skin on my hand. I was emptying the basket once, felt a mild irritation, pulled my hand out, and saw quite a big one having a red hot go with no luck 👍 😂
