Looks like the Labor government's calculated that their traditional base won't vote for the opposition under any circumstances, so they may as well try to appease the coal money and try to attract voters who're into that:
They're probably right, TBH, but putting more coal out into the world is a pretty cynical way cling to power.
They're better than the opposition, yes, but so's sticking a fork into your own leg 🤷♂️
