¡Zorro!
I’ve always loved Zorro. From the reruns of the 50s ones right up to this version, he’s always been the hero of the regular people.
@DyDave i was totally obsessed with the disney zorro when i was 4, so much that i threw a massive fit till parents bought me a zorro costume, which i wanted to wear every day. zorro and batman have always been my favorites. as an adult, The Mask of Zorro is a favorite movie

Also, you’re right to link Batman and Zorro and I think that’s the key. They fight for the everyman because it means something and not because they have some innate ability.
They develop their skills because they care.
