I share your sentiments, but I fear too many people will just point at Article III of the US Constitution and shrug.
The rich, white men (many of whom owned human beings) knew they were fallible and made it possible to change their work—they even made the first 10 changes themselves— but that appears to have fizzled out this century.
There were 17 more changes between 1788 and 1992, but this idiotic 'originalism' idea the RWNJs love so much seems to have put a halt to it.
