@DocLaing --I'm not big on nation building. The citizens of any repressive regime need to be invested in fighting for their own freedom. But nothing should stop the US from working with our allies to address an approach to helping the repressed people in other countries. We don't need a military conflict. But our strategy in Afghanistan in the 1980s to help the rebels fight the Russian army should start as an interesting blueprint.

A lot of things ultimately were wrong / went wrong with our involvement in Afghanistan.
But yes, the Afghan citizens and the government, for whatever reason, failed their own people.
This is the difference between them and the Ukrainians.

@DocLaing --Freedom won is far more valuable than freedom handed to those who wont take up arms against their oppressors.
