FLORENCE, Ore — On Nov. 9, 1970, a 45-foot sperm whale had washed up on the beach near Florence, but as KATU reporter Paul Linnman noted at the time, it later became "a stinking whale of a problem." Legendary story.

We are new to this site. We are a homestead/smallholding in NE Kansas and we run a flock of Gulf Coast sheep, have many rescue cats, a horse, a few Icelandic chickens, and some ducks. The sheep are mostly for breeding stock and fiber/hand spinning, but they are also good lawnmowers. We try to have a 3 seasons/year. We aim to be as as possible.
