Just a straightforward question that I have difficulty finding a honest answer to. Why do people still buy newspapers in this day and age? They are control freaks that implant their agenda into the minds of innocence. Very rarely do you get the actual truth, it's more of a guidance down their garden path. There are better ways of finding out what is going on in the world and more factual with the technology of today.
@Devildavid For me it's quite simple: sometimes I want to get my news and other stories away from a screen. It's better for my eyes.
@Devildavid old people. 🤷♂️
@Devildavid Nostalgia perhaps? There really is something to the feel, smell and sound of a newspaper! Same reason that I like to read actual books.
@Devildavid I subscribe to 2 papers. One is our local, comes out weekly. That has lots of school and local govt news. I love it!
The other is a regional, I get it at home 3 days a week and read it online for the others.
It’s nice to have the physical copy to share with others in my home. We also recycle/reuse the paper.
I do understand your points of view. One of the biggest discussions of our day is preservation and stopping the loss of for instance rain forests. I just use this as a side note to paper and the mass usage of wood and so on. I understand the relaxing feeling of reading and related topics, but is it necessary in today's society. I have honesty not purchased or read a paper for over 20 years, but am still up on the news and day to day activities. Thanks for your thoughts on this.
