Got some writing in today for the first time in a few days. Feel good about it. Managed about 1000 words, which is funny, since I only got through one image of my moodboard.

Because a picture is worth 1000 words.

Jokes are funnier when you explain them.

@LisetteBrodey absolutely true. English class was literally only book reports. And I went to 3 different highschools, and their book rotations meant that I read the odyssey and of mice and men 3 times. I didn't care about school so I didn't participate in it. It wasn't until summer school that it clicked that writing was something I could do.

@LisetteBrodey I thought it was dumb, because it was obvious, what would we gain by doing this? What I discovered is that everyone had a different story. I had no idea that a painting could be interpereted so many different ways, or that it could inspire a story of my own. I became a writer that day; in summer school english class with a bunch of fellow delinquints.

@LisetteBrodey Thats amazing, I'm just trying to get this ONE finished, lol.

when I was in the 10th grade I failed english and had to take summer school. The teacher was a no nonsense "I cant believe you took my summer away" type, but she did something no one else did; encouraged creativity. Instead of assigning a book report, she showed us the painting 'Nighthawks' and asked us to tell her what was happening and who the people were.

If we're doing fascism, can we just say fascisim? We can just do fascism if we call it that, but I'm getting really tired of people screaming 'freedom' in my face when they mean 'oppression'.

Lets just call a spade a spade for fucks sake.

@LisetteBrodey I'm going to start doing it. Long story short, I first discovered writing by describing a story I thought was happening in a painting. I want to get back to using that as a tool in my writing, to better give the feeling I'm looking for.

@KodoAndSangha agreed, I won't be going back.

Also I hate that every 10 feet someone asks if I need help.

@Dbot its been years since I've been to one. I thought they would at least have some tablet accessories of some kind. Low bar, ya know?

@KodoAndSangha yes, but I also don't understand why they wouldn't. People go there to buy tablets, phones, computers, et cetera. Why wouldn't they also want to upsell you an overpriced tablet stand or something.

Just saying that its sad that TJ maxx has electronics that best buy doesn't.

How the fuck is the average truck stop beating Best Buy in world of mobile electronics accessories. Literally just want something that will hold my tablet vertically, and I feel like Loves or Flying J would have had them on display at the door, meanwhile best buy doesn't even know such things exist apparently.

I once had a cooking accident in which I dropped a machete on my foot.

And I think no further explaination is needed.

@haikushack hmmm, I actually think this one is on my radar. I'm going to have to check it out.

Black summer was an incredible series, and I would put it in my top 5 zombie list. The more I think about it though, the more I feel like it is plagued with the problem of "this needs an end, purpose or goal" of the 3 act narrative. I just want more of that world, there doesn't need to be a bad guy, or a place to go, just day to day survival and character building. Why does season 1 end where it ends? Why does that need to be the journey?

@DWDavis gotta do what you gotta do. I think I could have tried harder, which makes me a little sad, but at the same time it was circus and I did what I had to just to survive.

Traveled to Canada last week. I Didn't get much writing done. I was hoping it would be a bit of a writing retreat for me, and I did get some alone time, but the chaos was very high and it was very difficult to sit down for any length of time and focus. A little sad about that, but it was the holidays, so what can you do?

In 2007 a friend came to my apartment on xmas eve to pick something up. Every inch of counter space in my kitchen had an empty beer bottle on it, and I was baking a single serving sized frozen lasagna. My friend informed me that I had hit rock bottom.

The following year I bought a family size lasagna.

Happy 4 days after winter solstice everyone!
