@HereticTheoretician totally agree. I strongly feel that if someone wants to own a firearm, they should have to earn it by proving they are safe and responsible enough to not be a threat to society.

I have a CDL-A commercial drivers license. It was very difficult to obtain and I have to do things every year to maintain it. As a result I need to be the most responsible person on the road. My livelihood depends on not getting a speeding ticket.
