Weather's nice now. Maybe it's time to bust out the implements and defy some laws of physics

Today I achieved the impossible: A drawstring from a hoodie that came out in the wash was successfully re-inserted into the hoodie and full hood squish functionality has been restored. Pix, to prove it happened.

I love that Nike is offering the space hippie series by reusing scraps and recycled materials, but I feel like I one-upped them by buying a pair used

Wondered why these spendy pickups didn’t sound good, but swapping in new pots and a switch solved the mystery. Rewired in a non-fancy configuration and it sounds so much better!

Imagine a supermarket, filled with all kinds of food for all kinds of people.

Now imagine YOU have decided that, to shop there, you MUST eat EVERYTHING the market sells. When you taste something you don't like, you threaten to boycott the market.

That's toxic fandom.

Haircut and pool chlorine means we’re going au natural — the blue will return in force when it gets colder

The Hyperkin Trooper 2 works great but I didn’t like the aesthetics of the sticker. Basic black works for me.

When we moved, I was thrilled I'd be able to bike to the train station three miles from my house. I bought a new bike for the occasion.

Now I know a) the road is narrow, in disrepair, and has no shoulder b) I ride into 15-20 mph winds every night c) it's facing the sun both ways and d) the hills on each side get me coming and going.

The only alt route adds 2 miles and has many of the same issues.

I've never been in so much physical pain from having my wish come true

This weekend we laser-cut a proper nameplate for the house and placed it near the door, in front of our unflappable sentry, Lion Reynolds

Fresh iPod batteries from a different brand and vendor — so far it looks like they will fix my “one day and battery is dead” and “refuses to sleep” troubles

As much as we love our new house, we really hated this tacky “rustic” paint treatment from the previous owners. It was one of the last things that we tend to, but I think @KatrinAuch did an amazing job repainting and changing the hardware.

I polished the sink

Star Wars nerds know what’s wrong (or right?) with this picture

Second booster acquired with @KatrinAuch

Many friends are reporting positive cases so let’s be proactive.

Yeah so a coworker just said a family member tested positive for COVID, and he immediately left the office. So as a "vintage American" over the age of 50, my 2nd booster is now scheduled for tomorrow.

Because diseases don't go away just because you're bored with them.

1975-2021: I love video games! They transport me to different realms, create exciting experiences for me to share with my friends, and can convey deep, emotionally affecting stories.

2022: Publishers say that what I really love is the blockchain!

Our new house came with a treehouse. It's made for very small kids, but we want to, um, spruce it up for visiting wee ones. Previous owners carved their kids' names into the planks, so we're covering those with laser-cut panels of Celtic knots to match our medieval house theme. Should have all sides done today!
