The mermaid version of “Thirty Days of Night” is “Merfolk” by Jeremy Bates. Mermaids as ruthless predatory creatures with only a vague resemblance to humans who see humans as merely a food source. Action packed and full of entertaining pseudo science.

Currently watching “Thirty Days of Night” (2007, horror). This is a vampire movie I can appreciate. No fucking sparkling sex machines, but vicious nasty bloodthirsty predators. There’s no let up on the action, the setting is perfect, and the characters are well written. Trigger warning: animal death.

Currently watching “Constantine” (2005, horror, Keanu Reeves). The movie has great effects, and of course Keanu Reeves (Always a plus) but is singularly boring and long winded. I just can’t bring myself to care.

Currently watching “The Prophecy” 1995, horror and suspense. The Angel Gabriel (Christopher Walken) comes to earth to claim the soul of an evil man not yet claimed by hell to take war to heaven. I absolutely love this movie.

Watching “The Meg”, horror. Seeing the woman in the shark cage all I can think is “Oh look, canned food!”

Got the newest Shane Ryan book “Nights End” by Ron Ripley and Ian Fortey, thanks to son. In this three book series I noticed that Shane Ryan wasn’t spending his time drunk as a lord. Very weird. So far the book is fast paced. I hope Shane gets Carls bones back.

Currently watching “Mirrors”. Horror, 2008. Keifer Sutherland. A man takes a night watchman job in an abandoned Mall and discovers the horror of mirrors. 5 🌟

Currently watching “Anaconda”. Horror. Action. I have a soft spot for cheesy movies, and this is 💯 percent grade a cheddar.

Currently watching “Ghosts of War”. Horror. An almost surreal story about the horrors of war, no matter when or where it’s waged. I’m not a big fan of military horror but this is well made.

Watching Studio 666, horror, starring the Foo Fighters. Kickass sound track, fun storyline, uneven but hilarious characters by the Foo Fighters. The cameo by Lionel Ritchie will have you rolling. A fun bit of trivia: the drummer Taylor Hawkins never memorized a single line.

Wow look what just arrived in the mail yay 😀 I didn’t realize this was one of my prizes.

Currently reading “Return to Hell House” by Nancy A Collins, which is actually the prequel to the original Hell House by Richard Matheson. Belasco House is the epitome of haunted houses.

Watching the horror movie “Dagon” which has absolutely no relationship to the short story by H P Lovecraft of the same name. If anything it bears a faint resemblance to “The Shadow Over Innsmouth”. Taken by itself it’s a pretty decent horror movie; good storyline, good actors, great atmosphere and the effects are good. 4 🌟

Snagged a copy of “I Found Puppets Living In My Apartment Walls” by author Ben Farthing. It’s on sale for .99 the next two days, then it goes up to 2.99. Number 1 best seller in horror short stories. I’ve heard high praise for it.

Oh wow guy pal surprised me with money on my Amazon so I was able to get the new Ron Ripley book called “Shadow of Deceit”. It’s the new Shane Ryan book 😊

Welp I died in Ghostland. I get to wear the tee shirt with pride.

There is one horror book I was never able to finish, and this from a hardcore Clive Barker fan. It’s called Nurse Blood and it’s by Rebecca Besser. It’s very effectively gruesome body horror. Give it a go if you have the fortitude.
