Currently reading “Mountain of Shadows and Other Tales of Alhazred” by Donald Tyson. Tyson is a huge fan of Lovecraft’s Alhazred and has written many books and stories of the mad Arab. He is also an occultist and hermit.

Amy Cross is an extremely prolific horror writer, having written well over a hundred books. She’s a spray hitter, covering many varied horror scenarios. Her writing is a bit florid sometimes, but when she hits one out of the park she will blow your socks off. Her books are always .99 also.

Finally got a copy of “The Haunting of Hill House” by Shirley Jackson, a copy of “I Found Puppets Living In My Apartment Walls” by Ben Farthing and two haunted house books by Amy Cross.

Currently watching “House of Bones” (2010, horror). One of the better horror movies. A tv ghost hunter crew and a psychic set out to investigate a notorious haunted house. Immediately strange things occur, and they escalate quickly. The movie is the perfect mix of horror and humor.5 🌟

Favorite line in this movie,
“Someone took the rhubarb straight out of that man’s pie.”

I entered another Mark Tullius contest. Won the grand prize in the Ghostland contest which surprised me as I have never won ANYTHING. I don’t expect to win this one but hey, you don’t win if you don’t try.

The new Shane Ryan book “Endless Night” is absolutely stellar. The story is fast paced, the ghosts unique, and the setting is very interesting. You might get more out of it by reading Dante. I’ve just about inhaled the book.

I was able to get the new Shane Ryan book Endless Night (Ian Fortey and Ron Ripley) plus Bag of Bones (Stephen King) and Little Miss Dead (Amy Cross) so I’m a very happy book monster.

Currently watching “The Frankenstein Theory” (2013, horror). What would Frankensteins monster be like today after so many years in the Arctic wilderness? The answer is truly frightening.

I managed to get Stephen Kings “Children of the Corn” for .99 on Amazon. Will read it after “Sunken City” by Tim Curran. “Sunken City” is based on “At the Mountains of Madness” by H P Lovecraft. It takes place in the deep lake the Old Ones retreated to during the Ice Age. Tim Curran is a master of his craft.

Currently reading “The Library” by Amy Cross. Claire, suffering from insomnia and recovery from a recent spine surgery, runs afoul of a small blob stealing books in her house. She finds herself in a bizarre world spanning library where she is both a meal, a savior, and something far different from what she appears.

Currently reading “Sherman’s Collection” by Ron Ripley, author of the very popular Shane Ryan stories. A dangerous man buys an extremely haunted house whose library is full of vicious and lethal entities. When many of the ghosts are stolen it’s up to him to find them again and bring them back.

Currently watching “Pumpkinhead” (1988, horror). One of those over the top kill the bad teens in horrible ways movies so popular at the time. It’s surprisingly fresh and effective. It makes no distinction between human and inhuman monsters, and can make you sympathize with both.

Currently watching “The Pact” (2012 horror). Considered the scariest movie of its year. Low budget but solid. Unique premise, excellent writing, decent filming. You will never see the ending coming.

Currently watching “Baby Blue” (2023, horror) A group of teens come across the story of the young dead serial killer Baby Blue and think he would make a great subject for a true crime podcast. But Baby Blue isn’t as dead as one might hope.

Currently watching “Route 666”. Horror. 2001. Lou Diamond Phillips. Better than it has any right to be. Rather a B movie with a cheesy storyline, but with wit and heart. Steven Williams makes the movie.

Just finished Room 6 (2006, horror). I don’t know why it scored so low on Rotten Tomatoes. The story is excellent, the actors extremely competent and the effects fine. A young couple suffers a car crash and are plunged into a nightmare of demons, hallucinations and horror surrounding a hospital that doesn’t exist.
