Downloading “Ghosts of War (2020, horror, Billy Zane). Will watch it for the fifth time when it’s downloaded. This is a five 🌟 military horror movie. Five soldiers are sent to protect a French chateau from the Nazis during WW2, only to discover terrors beyond war. Take absolutely nothing at face value. #CoSoMovies #horror
@thedisasterautist I love it. It’s damn near perfect. Could have done without the future stuff.
@Cryspeg: Yeah, the future stuff was unnecessary, but I figure they were trying to be topical.
@thedisasterautist it was poorly done and the story was Uber creepy without it.
@Cryspeg: Yeah, it seemed to me as if it may have been an afterthought, perhaps something required by the investors and/or distributors. Such things happen, alas.
@thedisasterautist yeah it felt tacked on. They could have found a way to integrate the two stories better.
@Cryspeg: Nah. They shoulda left it off and been done. Just have one or two of them wake up later being found by another squad or something. I dunno, but the Dream Lab didn't work.
@thedisasterautist but the village time line explained the ghosts and physical issues and such in the first, they just needed to integrate the two better.
@Cryspeg: Yes. I was just saying that leaving the Dream Lab off would've left unanswered questions that the nature of the story could've cushioned. There's an acceptable level of "The world may never know" and "There are more things on heaven and Earth, Horatio..." in there on its own. It wouldn't've been perfect, but it'd've been better, IMO.
(I wouldn't want to have gotten that rewrite assignment.)
@thedisasterautist I understand and you have a good point there.
@Cryspeg: I watched that one not long ago.
