Twitter’s Moderation System Is in Tatters

Disinformation researchers have spent years asking Twitter to remove toxic and fake posts. After @elonmusk’s staff cuts, the team that took down toxic and fake content vanished.

@CriticalCupcake

It is utterly beyond my understanding why anyone stays on Twitter.

What is the upside?

@LnzyHou

Aside from lots of friends/followers haven't left, but mostly it's the same reason I went there in the first place

To be a counter voice to the false and harmful narratives being put across by people that are out to harm others.

Although that can get a bit much.

@CriticalCupcake

I guess the death threat I got compromised my enthusiasm to be a counter voice.

Let me know how you feel when it happens to you.

@LnzyHou that'd probably do it. 😞 Sorry that happened to you. 💜

@LnzyHou @CriticalCupcake My bubble on Twitter is still active. I get good CDN political info there. The CDN political community here is growing, but it is still small in comparison to Twitter. I find that CS is mostly American for now.

@CriticalCupcake And their moderation system was never great to begin with. 😂

@CriticalCupcake so a hellsite that was worse before is even worse now. He never wanted to improve things, he just wanted a landing pad for the magat trogs. Well you can’t keep an echo chamber stable for very long, maniacal mango’s site is proof of that.

@Redskye572 I'm starting to become fascinated just how bad it can get given he's going to start having huge legal issues in some countries.
