A normal person would have shut up, taken advantage of their experts, learned from their mistakes, and made several incremental improvements (e.g., edit button) banal stuff that could be uncontroversial if not popular. Instead, Space Karen: 1) Removed his brain trust; 2) Alienated half his users by putting his thumb on the scale to influence the midterms; 3) Weaponized the platform against those who disagree with him; 4) Displays a complete ignorance of the 1st Amendment. #twitter

Musk is undergoing a narcissistic meltdown and mental decomposition. He is a small, broken man who is in over his head, stripped of his enablers, with only the same tools of coercion, manipulation, flattery, and ruthlessness to rely on. Just because you like baseball doesn't mean you can pitch. Tesla stock is tumbling, and his shift to Qanon conspiracies is tarnishing even well-regarded efforts, like SpaceX. If the Tesla board doesn't replace him they're failing their stockholders. #twitter
MAGAs raise up a 19 year old who killed two people and was acquitted, while Musk sics his Twitter mob on one of the world's leading epidemiologists, a public servant who saved hundreds of thousands of lives from Covid, and helped save millions more from AIDS. Congress should protect the people who serve the people.
There seems to be a type of person who gets to the top of society through extreme narcissism coupled with ruthlessness. Rather than running Twitter like a business, Musk is weaponizing internal communications against former employees in a personal vendetta. If he keeps it up, advertisers will flee in even greater numbers. I think he WILL keep it up. He can't help himself, and no one around him has the courage to push back. Well, it's happening. Gas is $2.99/gallon at my gas station here in NC. Crickets from the breathless media who tracked each uptick in gas prices with a microscope. It's almost as if it were a gimmick to drive right wing rage all along...
Funny how the media isn't breathlessly covering each tick of gas price as they fall below $3/gallon in some places. i guess they can't enrage Republican voters with it anymore so it's not important to them.

Trump is trying to deny he knew who Nic Fuentes is, but Secret Service protocols include background checks for everyone with whom the President dines. Unless protocol has changed, Trump knows exactly with whom he dined.

2/ Conservatives have Truth Social. And Parler. And (now) Twitter. And they are fighting for #election2024 now.
So, whether Mastodon, or right here on #CoSo. Or Tribel. Or wherever. We need to help others adopt these new spaces with an eye towards #election2024.
Life will be MUCH MORE COMPLICATED if Republicans take back the White House in 2024. So, let's put in some work to help people learn these new tools.
Kaye West, Trump, Elon Musk: men who had everything, and yet find themselves in one miserable crisis after another. But instead of finding a way to be their best selves, they manage to inflict their pathology on everyone using the biggest megaphone they can find. As hard as life can be without their wealth, I am truly thankful that I do not live in the toxic worlds they have crafted for themselves.
