Which is the most important post-19th century period in American history?

ยท 4ยท 2ยท 2

@Coctaanatis uhh, WWI sorta defined the modern world (borders and industry) while also being the root cause of WWIIโ€ฆ

@MookyTroubadour
I was tempted to draw a line at the end of La Belle ร‰poque, but I think WWI was generally less important in the US than elsewhere. But it's a good point.

@Coctaanatis

Between '33 and 60 we really hit high gear but after that came Nixon , Reagan, Gingrich, Cheney, and eventually McConnell and Trump. So that last 93-2024 period is key but in an end-is-near kind of way.

@Agatha If actual historians don't like my roughly 30 year periods, then they should do a poll! ๐Ÿ˜œ

@Coctaanatis

Actual historian here! ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

I abstained as I couldn't pick one because my brain kept coming up with, "Yeah that was important, but don't forget..." until it finally blue screened. ๐Ÿ˜‚

@Coctaanatis 61-72 is when progress started, and then 80-93 is when it was destroyed, setting us up for what came after.
