@JolieSaboteuse Even were she not apparently trying to throw the trial, it can't proceed until the Suprema Court rules on Trump's immunity claim -- and they don't appear to be in a hurry.
@Coctaanatis @JolieSaboteuse that shouldn't be a factor. The actions underlying the documents case took place after Trump was President. Even if he took them before his term ended, he withheld them after their return was demanded. Even Trump's lawyers would be hard pressed to claim that Presidential immunity followed Trump around for the rest of his life.
@MikePrevost3 oh just fucking lock him up.
@JolieSaboteuse even if he were found guilt, Cannon probably wouldn't lock him up. Smith would have to appeal the wrist slap she gave him.
Some of the real hardassed judges whom I dealt with in NY would have locked his ass up already. And would have given him time at sentencing just for his behaviour during the trial. Merchand may yet do it, but he's coming across as very weak--at least, to me.
@MikePrevost3 It's very clear that Cannon is his lapdog. I think Merchand may be full of surprises.
@MikePrevost3 @JolieSaboteuse Isn't that part of his defense?
@Coctaanatis @JolieSaboteuse on the Jan. 6 case, yes.
What is this about?

@Coctaanatis @JolieSaboteuse I think the sophisticated legal term of art for that is "bullshit".
Which of course doesn't mean that Loose Cannon won't buy it. 🙄
I think the primary goal is delay, and they're remarkably successful.
A secondary goal is to "flood the zone with shit" Steve Bannon style. It's cynical, but it seems to work.
@Coctaanatis The fix is in.
