The "out" has to do with explaining away his provocative comments. I don't need it this time. Too expensive for me personally and no benefit.
So, he's just not going to defend him so much any more.
@mkagle He clarified that two hours ago, well after I posted, but he hasn't said he supports Trumo over possible GOP challengers.
