Trump appointed judge temporarily halts criminal investigation of documents found at Mar-a-Lago. Orders appointment of special master to consider, among other things, whether the documents are protected by executive privilege even though Trump hasn't been President since January, 2021. This will delay the criminal investigation.

@JoyfullyDazed I don't think this has been decisively ruled on, but previous court decisions, including by the current Syupteme Court, cast doubt on whether it protects Trump.
