Want to be a great CounterSocial citizen? Use hashtags! Hashtags serve two purposes here:
1. They help others to find both you, and the stuff you like.
2. They're a considerate way to help people filter the stuff they don't like.

Example: It's football season, which is AWESOME for a lot of people, and BORING for a lot of other people. If you add (#)NFL to your posts, then you can be a raving superfan with all of the other raving superfans—and without BORING the people who aren't into sportsball.
