Starting to look at a new PC. Was leaning towards pre-build, but I've built my last three desktops; I like my tower cases (Antec), and my 2070 Super hasn't given me reason to upgrade. Thinking it would be cheaper to re-use what I have. 🤷
Intel or AMD Ryzen, that is the question. 🤔
@TrueBloodNet My Asus ROG has a Ryzen, stupidly over-speced for games, but great for editing. I've used Intel since Pentium III, never too late for a change.
I use separate SSDs (OS drive is for OS) so transfer of documents, cloud, and Steam library should be less hastle.
I'm pretty boring: I like understated cases, not bothered about LED fans; only window I want to see is the OS. 😏
@Clavius_42 hehe The only thing I hate about my box is the stupid internal lights that keep me awake some nights. :) I have 4 HDs and 2 SSDs. Plus Dropbox. The only drive that has died on me is the SSD with the OS on it. I got a new SSD and microsoft put my OS back on. The old SSD is functional but doesn't work as a boot disk for some reason, so I copied what little was on it to a HD and a thumb. I have 1 HD that has only programs on it and 1 that has only data files. The other 2 are BU or games
@Clavius_42 I always end up with AMD LOL
I have a giant case upstairs that I'll build my next computer on.. but when I went to Microcenter to look at parts they had a great sale on their store built DTs going on and I ended up buying that. I couldn't even get the parts that were in it bcuz there was a chip shortage.
GL and enjoy!
