The "fucking liberal" comment leads me to think this wasn't about the doctor/patient interaction, as much as his own bias.

If the children didn't understand the question, wouldn't it be a benign question unless pursued further by the doctor?

His being the guy I was talking to or the doctor? He was upset his brother & nephews were upset.

The questions remain: should 12 yr old kids be asked how they identify? Are black cis men overly sensitive/suspicious of LGBTQ+ identities? Did I handle this wrong after fucking liberal comment?

I felt impotent & uncaring toward the guy.

You know the "P" in the kids' DPT shots? That's for pertussis, AKA whooping cough. Your neighbors have not been vaccinating their children and now here we are.

There have been 1,744 reported cases of whooping cough statewide this year, compared with fewer than 300 reported cases all of last year.

Infants are severely at risk because they haven't yet been vaccinated.

Had an interesting convo with black man today around 40. He was outraged that his 12 yr old twin nephews went to the doctor for annual check up during which doc asked each boy how they identify. They didn’t know what he meant & it was very embarrassing & upsetting.

He made a comment about fucking liberals so I’m guessing he voted trump.

Should I have defended the doc asking the gender question? Is 12 too young? Are cis
black men more LGBTQ resistant?

Here's something I never knew. In Chicago they light the train tracks on fire to keep the switches from freezing.

@CinnamonGirlE We found an old brownie camera in my housemate's uncle's barn that still had film in it. It had been in the barn for probably 40 years, through winter and everything. We sent it away to some place online and they managed to save 7 photos, one of which was my housemate and his 3 siblings as children sitting on a fence looking the other way. Such a cool pic we printed it and gave them all a framed copy for Christmas that year!

@CinnamonGirlE There will be some latent image failure. Sensitized (exposed not developed) emulsions are more sensitive to secondary exposure than unexposed emulsions . Also cosmic, background radiation will raise the gross or base fog which is the film base tint and emulsion post development as read via a transmission densitometer.
