One of my favorite SK books is "The Stand". The group that winds up in Vegas after following Randall Flagg, who is ultimately the Devil, figure out soon they are also trapped. They follow him and then figure out it wasn't what they thought.

Today I went to the gym, visited my sis. Bought healthy groceries and am going to live my life.

Even though I am going to be dragged through this like everybody else, gonna take great delight in watching MAGA figure it out.
