"The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all."
- JOHN F. KENNEDY

We are seeing the results of the weakest links taking over.

@CinnamonGirlE Rs have been working to multiply those weak links since before JFK....

@t_heislen
Sure have. They play a long game. And keep digging new basements.

@CinnamonGirlE

We will go to the end of our days remembering exactly where we were when JFK was assassinated.

@LnzyHou
I actually don't remember. I was alive, but too little.

@CinnamonGirlE @LnzyHou

Same. Too young. Mom told me I was upset because my Casper cartoons weren't on.

Who cares about the president? I wanted to see Casper!

@GeezerWench @LnzyHou
That's funny. I am sure I would have felt the same as I didn't like anything to mess with my cartoons when I was little. 😂

@CinnamonGirlE @GeezerWench @LnzyHou I was in second grade; I remember. I hope to soon remember the end of Trump.

@DavidKMresists @CinnamonGirlE @GeezerWench @LnzyHou
3rd grade. They rolled in the AV cart so we could briefly watch the unfolding news. Then they sent us all home.

@CinnamonGirlE My mother was seeing a client. She asked if the client would like to skip therapy that day. The client screamed something about why people were all going on about the news and ignoring her. My mom told that story in class as an example about how the mentally distressed have trouble seeing past their own problems.

@mkagle
Good illustration as we still have the same problems.
When people are worried about how they are going to eat, things like politics take a backseat. Or are viewed in a skewed way.
Maslow had it right.
