That is absolutely spectacular! Love the colors and birds! Lalique never ceases to amaze me! ππ
@Spagesgallo1
Aren't the colors fabulous??
Absolutely! It reminds me of the ocean! It's truly a work of art! I could gaze at it forever! Imagine how the sunlight would play off the colors?
@Spagesgallo1 ikr? Wish it was mine π
@Spagesgallo1
Same. No more stuff in this "busting at the seams" house. .
@Spagesgallo1 my littles will be with me tomorrow. I am going to give them decorating duties, but the days of multiple trees and Christmas extravaganzas are over for me too.
@CinnamonGirlE that sounds like a great idea! I just want a simple little tree with my most memorable, keepsake ornaments and a wreath on the door. I know it's different when you have little ones. It's just us. So I have a different mindset.
@Spagesgallo1
I used to go all out and do different themed trees. I did love it. But it's just too much now. And too much afterwards.
I totally get that. I can't imagine the amount of work it was to do that level of decorating. Then the dismantling it all afterwards. Keeping it more simple might be more enjoyable while still keeping the holiday spirit. Last year I actually bought a Charlie Brown tree and put fairy lights on it, since we had just moved here. I actually really loved the simplicity and symbolism of it.
@Spagesgallo1 simplicity is key. Funny how we change as we age. π
It's so true. It's more of the meaning behind it instead of the bells and whistles! π I really love simplicity. Less is more!
@Spagesgallo1
I am learning that myself π
One of my gfs hosted an undecorating party lol...it was FUN. π·πΈπ
Now that's a great idea! πΎπ₯
We use to cut a tree out of the woods here but then SC happened so I didn't bother. Now that it's out of my life I cannot wait to cut one down to decorate.
Talk about the original Charlie Brown tree lol. All it needs a little love. π π
@KazzyH @Spagesgallo1
I love real trees. But artificial is what I have used for the past several years.
I have a tiny silver tinsel tree that we use too. π it's fun. And of course the old ceramic tree with lights.
@KazzyH @Spagesgallo1
I used my 3 ceramic trees last year. Going to put them out again tomorrow.
Aww, the tinsel tree...what a blast from the past! π€£ With the rotating lights focused on the tree! Love the ceramic tree with lights too. Thanks for the great memories!
@Spagesgallo1 @KazzyH
I love tinsel trees. #vintage
Me too! Kazzy brought me right back to the 60's!
Mine is newish. We did have one with a color wheel though growing up.
Never had a real tree until we were married. π ahhh the 60s.
Even though it's newish, everything old is new again! I loved our silver tinsel tree with the color wheel! β€οΈππ
Ahh, that must be so nice having a real tree!
Yes, the 60's...good times! Despite its own issues.
@KazzyH @Spagesgallo1
The tinsel tree is what my grandma and my mom had with the color wheel when I was really small. Then real trees.
Same thing here Cinny! Now with a pup, I wouldn't want to take a chance that she might get into any mischief with a real tree. She is a very curious little girl. Loves to sniff everything!
@KazzyH @CinnamonGirlE
Aww, that is absolutely wonderful! Nothing like cutting down your own real tree π for the holidays! The smell is just divine!
Years ago I actually bought the saddest looking real live Christmas tree. My boyfriend at the time made the same kind of wooden base as the Charlie Brown Christmas tree.I even wrapped the bottom with a small light blue blanket. I decorated it and it was the most beautiful little tree. Yes, all it needs is a little love! β€οΈπ
@CinnamonGirlE
Same thing here! I'm still purging and purging again! I can't believe how much more stuff I have gotten rid of! It feels so good! Last will be the Christmas stuff. I'm really going to simplify that as well! No intentions of decorating like I used to.
