After much playing with butter, shortening, flour, and water - I finally figured out pie dough

@LnzyHou I watched so many videos from King Arthur Baking Co, Clair Saffitz, Sally’s Baking Addiction. I think grating frozen butter and using ice water, not cold, may be the path to success

It's an art. My mom made the best pie crusts ever. And homemade biscuits. Her daughter isn't quite as successful.

Best pie makers ever have tried to teach me. They say I work the dough too much. It’s compulsive I guess.

My mother always said there are cake bakers & pie makers. No one does both well.

We are the cake bakers. Pecan Rum cake is my specialty.

It is. Use the best rum in the world distilled on St Croix—Cruzan Rum. I cook a lot with it.
