I am not surprised. By citing "health reasons" for her firing, they pretty much sealed their culpability.

Especially if it's an "employment at will" state, where you can be fired just because, so it's usually much harder to prove discriminatory intent because they don't have to give a reason.

I live in an "at will" state. This incident obviously was at fault.
