Explanation of why people are leaving the southern baptist cult. 🤦🏻‍♀️
flip.it/n0M2HH

@CinnamonGirlE Ooo, Ooo, Ooh! Pick me Pick me?! Is it "They are trying to make the world end in fire and are a Death Cult for 1000?"

@CinnamonGirlE Grew up in that camp. G'Pa was a preacher of some note in their ranks.

@jasod
I grew up in it as well. And with some lapses, I was pretty faithful.
But I never believed in Republican Jesus. For me, I believe love one another, and imagine my surprise when I realized that was just for show. It's not what "we" really do!
I actually had someone tell me if I believed more and prayed harder, I wouldn't need meds for hypertension.
I am a nurse practitioner. Sell that elsewhere please. 🙄

@CinnamonGirlE @jasod They raised your blood pressure just saying that! 😀

@MidnightRider @jasod
They raised it enough to excuse myself and I never went back. There are truly some good people who believe as I do. They just also believe they can stand beside the ones who don't. I'll just stand over here and have my own "relationship" with my maker.

@jasod @CinnamonGirlE “ The Church of the Forgiving Eagle would like to apologise for Brother Joshua’s small outburst yesterday.”
😂😂😂😂😂😂

@nopuppet_007 @jasod
Nothing says the love of Jesus like telling people to get out of church when they ask for prayer. And then encouraging them to kill people "they" disagree with.

@CinnamonGirlE @nopuppet_007 Or asking when you can start shooting people. That was a fun video to watch.

@CinnamonGirlE Maybe they read the bible? Jesus Himself makes it pretty clear:

"By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit."

People know the difference between bread and stone. They know the difference between a fish and a serpent. And they know the difference between love and hate.

@CinnamonGirlE ...and that's not how baptist churches work anyway. The pastor isn't a Pope or a King. He doesn't tell people to get out.

The pastor isn't the church. The congregation is the church. The pastor meets the needs of the congregation, or he gets the boot.

I've seen a lot of pastors get the boot.
