Yes, this is all so exhausting. Take breaks as needed. But please, US Citizens, turn out to vote.

It’s the small, colorful quirky things that add a smile to my day. I’m sharing just in case it might make you smile, too.

I knew that I was dying.
Something in me said,
Go ahead, die, sleep, become as them, accept.
Then something else in me said, no,
save the tiniest bit.
It needn't be much, just a spark.
A spark can set a whole forest on fire.
Just a spark.
Save it.

My daughters got themselves a new puppy. Forget about teaching her tricks.. Chula has taken on new hobbies. 🤣

They will learn the hard way. It will be very difficult to feel or show any sympathy to Trump voters, much less kindness and camaraderie.

I sure hope as a whole we all get through this minimally beaten down.

again.. and

A lot of people will suffer under another Trump presidency. His voters think they will be accepted into the fold (of whatever it is they think it is) and excepted from punishment (from the categories they love to blame). They have no idea how bad it will get. They have no idea how they are being used. They have no idea how quickly they also will be "othered."

Add that to the loss of Roe v Wade, the failure to protect contraception at the federal level, that women are more likely to attend and graduate college, that women live longer thus greater access to generational money, and more women are homeowners.

Point to and other all the darker skinned people you want, but white women, don't forget, then you point that finger, three fingers point back at you. You are just a pawn in the game for Republicans. You too will become a much larger target.

Go to any right wing post on social media and you will see the head of Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle, called a DEI (diversity) hiring.

Diversity, equity and inclusion. The very same "agenda" that companies and universities are being pressured to discontinue in practice. Of which, many are bowing to that pressure.

Remember folks.. DEI doesn't just mean Black, Latino, Muslim, Native, etc... it also means women. More exacting, white women.

I spent three hours in the sun by the pool today. I listened to the birds singing, the bees bzzzzing, the water lapping, and the far off growl of a lawn mower. I didn't hear any rhetoric. My own included. It was lovely.

You may not have the sun, the pool, or the hours, but I hope you each give yourself some precious time in peace to rest, regroup, and recharge.

Nothing is over yet.

I would not be shocked at all if the Trump campaign reached out to this kid and promised him a get out of jail free card and cash. "To help the country from falling into the hands of Dems." "

I HATE that my mind has jumped to this possibility. It just shows me that despite my ingrained propensity to dispense kindness and optimism, that I too can be negatively affected by the power of rancid and vile words that float through out airwaves.

5. Off all people.. a young 20 yo, registered R, with little or no shooting skill?

6. No time wasted blaming Dem rhetoric. Declaring grace from God. Using photo for fundraising.

I'm just going to say my own conspiracy theory here.. even thought I detest CS...

1. Trump was rattled but not enough to keep his head protected. SS tried to keep him down, but he nearly knocked the female SS agent in the front when he was determined to stand up and get his arm pump in the air.

2. I thought an AR-15 had a louder sound.

3. How did Crooks get on the roof of an adjacent building?

4. I thought an AR-15 fired many more rounds than that in a short time frame.

This is not grounded in anything other than my own cynicism ..

I watched the footage of the shooting and the interviews after, and the video of the counter sharpshooter on the roof who managed to shoot the gunman.

I am also aware that Trump had been relatively on the quiet side post debate.

Watching the interviews and reading some articles there are a few things..

I realize in this late age that I have done a disservice to my children raising them with the adage, “In all things, be kind.”

I now tell them they should never have to discard their boundaries or sacrifice their inner peace for the (dis)comfort of another.

Call a bitch a bitch. Recognize a rat bastard as such.

They should never have the burden of carrying pain and trauma for the sake of others who had no regret or shame of causing the harm.

1,513 averages to 36 fraud cases per year.

There is no widespread voter fraud.. certainly none that can actually change the outcome of any election.

The Heritage Foundation (same conservative think tank penning Project 2025) has compiled a list of voter fraud cases since 1982. In 42 years, there have been 1,513 voter fraud cases. Of them ONLY 10 cases are confirmed undocumented immigrants voting. TEN!!

Still yet, those 1,513 cases.. are just a fraction of the more than 2 billion votes cast in federal elections in that same time-period, according to a calculation for The Fact Checker by the Brennan Center for Justice.

2/

In October 2022, a Fox News poll found that 55 percent of those surveyed were extremely or very concerned about voter fraud. Among Republicans, nearly three-quarters said they were that concerned.

Don't get suckered.. There are no illegal voting caravans being sent to various states!
