How does one master not thinking?
If I’m exercising I’m keeping counts or a running commentary. If I’m meditating like with a prayer I’m conscious of my inner voice saying the prayer. If I’m daydreaming, there are constant scenarios playing out. Even my dreams are filled with multi layers of awareness, with one layer as the narrator. If I’m reading I visualize while the characters voices are talking aloud. If I’m alone, I’m singing without realizing.
My mind never stops. I wish it would.
It is with a heavy heart that I bring the news that Vato was euthanized tonight at the age of 14. Though he was on seizure medication, the brain tumor caused a cluster of seizures tonight that lasted over 90 minutes.
But in his last few days, he spent a lot of time basking in the sun in his backyard. He slept with my daughter on her bed the past couple of nights, like two peas in a pod. He had time to snuggle and cuddle with all five of us. He died knowing he was loved. #DogsOfCoSo
@Museek This place brings moments of peace and kindness to my day. It’s what I love most about the people here. A warm embrace on a chilly day of feeling disconnected or unappreciated or a splash of cool water when heated with anxiety or frustration.
Also a good place to ask questions on just about any topic and get answers from intelligent and/or experienced people.
@SheilaKnoxxx I need to correct my quick typing and failure to proofread before posting.. we are NOT generally speaking extremely left of center. Sorry for the misinformation.
@Render
Beatles - for singing to
Led Zeppelin - for sex
REM - for politics
The Who - for nostalgia
Soundgarden - for getting energized
@SheilaKnoxxx I would also add that in a poll from a few years ago, the majority of users are between ages 30 and 60. The field seems to trend left of center, but extremely so. We do have more conservative users. But again, this is where CoSo is so unique. We actually exhibit adultlike behaviors with reading comprehension and sensible discussions.
Rarely is rudeness tolerated. Trolls and Bots are removed within minutes.
You also have tools to mute or block any person.
I hope you enjoy!
@redenigma 100% agree with you. Credit scores are manufactured numbers with changing criteria. Credit checks harm people who may have had a bad run but are trying like hell to turn their lives around. And yes, I also agree with your thought process about it being used as a tool of repression.
@SheilaKnoxxx Welcome!
This place is a veritable oasis from the soc media world at large. We are individuals with varied interests from around the world. Art, music, writing, tech, legal, finance, medical, sports, animals, crafts. Support, kindness, guidance, friendship. People talk about current events or their daily lives. Offer help. Share tips. Because <1% are rude, we have become a family of sorts. We do ask you use #tags or the content warning
for questionable material like spiders! 😬 🤭
Let me tell you a truth… No matter what choice you make, it doesn’t define you. Not forever. People can make bad choices and change their minds and hearts and do good things later; just as people can make good choices and then turn around and walk a bad path. No choice we make lasts our whole life. If there’s ever a choice you’ve made that you no longer agree with, you can make another choice.

@stueytheround WOW!!! It's the transponder that costs so much.
A few decades ago, I was partying in NYC and lost my car key somewhere. My mom who was back home had to go to the dealer to get a replacement key and Fed Ex it to me overnight The fed ex cost more than the key.
What's so funny 'bout peace, love, and understanding?
