I realize most on this site are into politics, science and/or security, but on a lighter note.. has anyone here read the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward?
Anyone?....Anyone?
@ChippySuave not I...
@celticsfanaticentomologist Oh, I know... you are not into romance stories. But this series is good! Not all fluff and stuff.
@ChippySuave I might look into it. I've got dozens of books lined up waiting for my prying eyes, just feel recently not able to get out of the starting blocks with them. Example. I bought a copy of a Roger Williams biography. One of my political passions is the concept of 'Separation of Church and State'. I've read somewhere the whole idea started with him. After the first couple of chapters, set the book down, and haven't gotten back to it in >2 yrs. Something about flagging enthusiasm.
@celticsfanaticentomologist Two years??? No, no, no.. I realize there are some erudites who feel every book must be scholarly in execution and we as readers should always be looking for more knowledge. Pffbbttt! While continual learning is important, so is escapism.
We have only so much free time, and of that free time, only so much is dedicated to reading. If you can't get back into a book after 2 years, or if you feel no motivation to continue it.. chuck it! Don't waste time forcing yourself
@celticsfanaticentomologist I have lots of books I could recommend.. Try Gods of Gotham by Lyndsay Faye.
@celticsfanaticentomologist If you read it, let me know what you think, okay?
@ChippySuave Yes, I will. Definitely.
@ChippySuave I just ordered the book you recommended. I re-read the description...am kinda pumped about it.
@celticsfanaticentomologist YAYY!! I get giddy when I convince someone to read a book I have enjoyed.
@ChippySuave GEEZUS, that sounds great.
