This is not grounded in anything other than my own cynicism ..

I watched the footage of the shooting and the interviews after, and the video of the counter sharpshooter on the roof who managed to shoot the gunman.

I am also aware that Trump had been relatively on the quiet side post debate.

Watching the interviews and reading some articles there are a few things..

1. Trump was rattled but not enough to keep his head protected. SS tried to keep him down, but he nearly knocked the female SS agent in the front when he was determined to stand up and get his arm pump in the air.

2. I thought an AR-15 had a louder sound.

3. How did Crooks get on the roof of an adjacent building?

4. I thought an AR-15 fired many more rounds than that in a short time frame.

@ChippySuave an AR-15 is a style, not a particular gun. guns can have built in silencers, but from over a hundred yards they aren't that loud anyway, just a popping sound (note, though, that i live in an area where people are shooting all. the. time. ), and not all AR-15 style guns take large magazines. PA has no limit on magazine capacity though so we're lucky he did not have a 10 or 15 round magazine.

@redenigma Thank you for sharing this info with me. 😃

@ChippySuave kiddo wants a good rifle, but he adamantly does not want "one of those stupid AR looking things". he has a BB rifle & a .22, but hasn't found anything else he likes enough to bother with.

@redenigma @ChippySuave I used to have an H&R 12 ga. single shot. It had a look and feel that was simple and well designed. Damascus steel, and the wood stock was nice too. Kiddo might like one.
