Why is there an assumption that enslaved men and women had no skills prior to being captured and chained? Furthermore, does it escape reasoning to understand that as a free person, one might have the opportunity to choose a skill set or profession, instead of being assigned one?
There are layers of subliminal messaging inside every seemingly vacuous statement. Please be aware of what is really happening.

There's this image that african people were running around naked and eating dirt or something. As if they haven't been around developing useful skills and vast civilizations for time out of mind. Longer than Europeans, certainly.
