We are taking a long weekend/mini-vacation in San Diego. There is a large Navy base here. Every ship and aircraft we see, Chef tells me all about the history of it.
My Navy Vet is happy as a clam here. Lol

@CherNohio @Keep_Real The Tomcat will forever be my favorite. I grew up watching them over the skies of Long Island and my neighbor was a test pilot for Grumman and would fly over the house, I’m sure illegally haha, and tip his wings to wave at us in the neighborhood. Those are some of the best memories I have besides walking the flight line and being able to see them up close and personal. I had friends that were attached to F14 squadrons, I would visit them frequently in the hangars. Haha

My ex was stationed at NAS Alameda for a little over a year. It was there I first saw the F-14A's which were aboard the USS Enterprise. He deployed on the Enterprise for a year following our time there. We lived in an apartment just north of the San Diego Charger's stadium at the time.
