The sign on the top was the one that has been there since August. One of the campus officers said, “but does it say to keep it locked and closed?” so, I added the second sign below it, because it seems the first one wasn’t enough.

I’ve decided that if it happens again, I’m going to coat the doorhandles in silver nitrate. So, if anybody touches the handles, it will turn their hands blue for a day or so.

I could also use KMnO3. That would turn their hands into a deep, purpleish color.

Have added this to all my lab doors because campus police will not stop opening my lab and leaving it open.

These same dudes felt the need to explain to me that I have to keep these doors locked because “you know there are dangerous chemicals in there, yeah? People can get hurt.”

Then why TF you leaving the doors open when you’re not supposed to be in there anyway?!

I think I’m going to have to call the lawyers at the college and have them explain to “campus police” that if an angry student gets a hold of 12 M sulfuric acid and throws it on another person because cops left the lab door open…the cops may not have jobs anymore because the college will be sued.

My favorite scenario is a bored smart kid who figures out how to build a bomb…because they’ve spent all night in an open chemistry lab mixing stuff stupidly. That’s nice. 😒

I'll jump in.

Iowa is a very white, very conservative (even the dems) place. It no longer reliably indicates who will win the national primaries. Also, they totally pooched the vote in 2020.

Nevada (where I live) was in the running. We are diverse, and in a swing state. We also failed to count the 2022 vote swiftly.

South Carolina is also diverse, & elevated the sitting POTUS.
