@bluesbaby Sadly, it looks like an elderly driver in a very heavy and powerful car lost control for reasons well probably never know and carreened at up to 160mph(?) launched the car into the air and into a wall. Yes, it exploded. I'd have been surprised if it hadn't from what I saw from CCTV shots.

A person claiming to know him says he had long-standing trouble with the gas pedal, and it had been in for service a few times. RUMINT at this point.
I also read that Bentley introduced some new-fangled gas pedals.
