@MidnightRider Trump may or may not know/understand the devastating effects tariffs may have on the economy on US citizens. My hunch is he knows what tariffs will do and he wants to hollow out the middle class. It’s a transfer of wealth, assets, and makes for an insecure workforce that will accept shitty wages & benefit s to maintain their middle class illusion.

@Iceman_Bob @MidnightRider whatever Trump believes or knows about tariffs is irrelevant, he’ll try to do something. Maybe only one sector like automotive. Given the foreign sourcing of parts that would blow back. Most likely someone suggested tariffs to him and it stuck.
