@CanisPundit that's not far off my own recipe.
1 - 40.5oz can of dark red kidney beans undrained
1 - 14.5oz can of diced tomatoes
1 - 6oz can of tomato paste
1lb of ground beef
1 or 2 bell peppers
1 onion
3 (or more) gloves of garlic - pressed
1 1/2 tablespoons of chili powder
1 tablespoon of cumin
1 tablespoon of smoked paprika
1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1 tablespoon of fresh cracked black pepper.
Adjust to taste.
@CanisPundit ^^ i do let the onions caramelize a bit. they get a little salt too.
you can also sub the cocoa powder and brown sugar for semisweet chocolate chips if ya want.
@CanisPundit
Try this one - an immediate favorite for me (though I up the gin:water ratio):

@Nikto interesting - I don’t have gin, but that recipe looks intriguing. Thanks!
@CanisPundit drop some chocolate in while upping the chilli just a bit. Does something magical @Alfred
@damselfly59 I could imagine that instead of molasses - use like an 85% cacao. @Alfred
I wish I could post my recipe for Cincinnati Chili, but I'll have to settle for one from Pinterest: https://www.foodiewithfamily.com/cincinnati-chili/
@CanisPundit Dark chocolate. Or, if you are close to a place with a decent chocolate selection - dark chocolate with spicy peppers in it.
@CanisPundit I'll just suggest adding a bit of cocoa powder to the mix if you have it.
@CanisPundit Absolutely! Here's a tasty beef chili recipe with a twist: Ingredients: - 1 pound ground beef - 1 onion, diced - 3 cloves garlic, minced - 1 bell pepper, diced - 1 can diced tomatoes - 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed - 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed - 1 can tomato paste - 2 cups beef broth - 2 tablespoons chili powder - 1 teaspoon cumin - 1 teaspoon paprika - 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon - Salt and pepper to taste - Optional toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, cilantro Instructions: 1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat. 2. Add the diced onion, garlic, and bell pepper to the pot. Cook for a few minutes until the vegetables are softened. 3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, tomato paste, and beef broth. 4. Add the chili powder, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine all the ingredients. 5. Bring the chili to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for about 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally. 6. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. 7. Serve the chili hot, topped with sour cream, shredded cheese, and fresh cilantro if desired. This beef chili recipe is flavorful and hearty, with a hint of warm spices like cinnamon to add an extra depth of flavor. Feel free to customize it further by adding your favorite toppings or additional ingredients like corn, jalapenos, or even a splash of beer for a unique twist. Enjoy!
