@MLClark I was getting at the issue of having to time recording around the environmental sounds. Sure thing, anything other the eel or eyeballs or such.
I tried to source such materials locally a few years back, but they weren't readily accessible here, and I'd need a bigger space to work with my laptop behind the mic, so sometimes it's not as easy as zipping out to a specialty dealer in Canada or the US. Instead I've padded the whole window in my office, but it can't hold up to major trucks or motorcycles barrelling down the highway right outside. So it goes!
Nah, this is hearty country fare. Bring a farmer's appetite!
@MLClark have you considered altering your content to match the ambience? More pieces that include intermittent dog barking, sirens, and traffic noise?
Why, Canis, are you trying to get a special guest role on my recordings?! 😅
The universe being what it is, I bet that if I wrote a piece relying on ambient noise, all the dogs, children, macaws, and trucks would choose precisely that recording slot as the perfect time to go away.
@MLClark anytime. Anyone can do linear problem solving. Alinear problem solving is my specialty.
And you do it magnificently!
@CanisPundit
😅 My issue was way simpler; the external mic just turned off at some point early in the recording, so I was running on the laptop's internal mic while reading without realizing it. Silly error. Took more care when recording my BookTube next.
But by all means, come for food (maybe not tapas - that's more Spain and Mexico - but there are local good eats for sure)!
