While I have little doubt that Harris can win the presidency I wonder what her policies may be and if they align with her early theme of freedom. Abortion rights and gun violence are necessarily central, but what will be her agenda and what is her mandate from us beyond the preservation of our democracy? What policies would you like to see in her platform?
My audacious hope for a Harris presidency (assuming filibuste-proof Democractic majorities) is to put to rest legislation that’s tittered back & forth or simply regressed since the 1960s: voting rights, election security, a baseline of universal healthcare, universal human sexual rights, gun control, incentivizing manufacturing to return to the US, protect the commons and public services from privatization, treating energy independence and climate change as national security interests, …
