Remember when the internet was a single, solitary, unmoving place instead of a terror that extends to everywhere and everything? You went to this specific spot to go to the internet and when you left the spot, you left the internet. The internet used to be a place.

@th3j35t3r you’re making me nostalgic. I might have to piss off my, she sounds like a 9600 baud modem if I get her revved up.

@CanisPundit @th3j35t3r

9600? Whoa look at you and your fancy speed demon.

I may not have walked to school, uphill, both ways, in the snow, but I dealt with 1200 baud *as an adult*. 😭

@CanisPundit

I am BBS "the internet is only for universities old". 😂 (Actually, I'm way older than that. That's just my internet age.)

@CanisPundit @Agatha

Lol — dunno, CP. I’d have you ask him but he’s not on CoSo. He was then and still is a computer geek. @Bix may remember him from Twitter…

It was a fun weekend, tho — I just quit my job, went back to the apt. and he’s yelling at me “DOOD check it out!” So I spent the rest of Friday, all day/night Saturday and Sunday playing that game, writing a term paper for grad school, and dodging quasi-gf’s phone calls (‘memba when caller ID was revolutionary? 😀)…

The Pirate Bay still lives - see their FLAC section.

@InUnfunky @CanisPundit

Damn. 😂 I remember Doom tournaments, too. A computer store would network, say, 4 computers, and people would come in to play against other people. No internet needed! 😂
