@redenigma we rented out our house while we were away. Covered the mortgage, didn't even occur to us to cover the effing property tax. what a pack of idiots we were.
@Camerondotca there are people living in my summer camp trailer in NY. i pay heat, electric, taxes. they have paid me, i think, about $600 in the 3 years they've been there. they have, however, done some repairs & insulating, so there's that, i suppose

@redenigma yeah. Like we nearly killed ourselves paying the property tax from overseas, but it just didn't occur to us to charge more. In the end it bit us in the ass, because the last tennant were utter shits.
@redenigma all the carpets had to come up, they'd smoked everywhere, there were red wine stains all the way to the under padding. The funniest one was the downstairs bathroom. There were all these holes and screws and what they had done was screw a hand towel to the wall and when it got to gross they'd just cut the tag off the towel and leave the tag and screw on the wall.
