neighbors on NextDoor this morning are actually in a heated argument and name-calling again.

over a turkey. 🙃

someone posted a photo of a local turkey. described him as a "regal gentleman."

well.

other people jumped in to object to THAT because this PARTICULAR turkey is apparently rude. and acts like.....a TURKEY.

now they are (really more one side than the other) yelling into the internet void.

some people seem to have nothing pressing to worry about.

@chromogirl If they're yelling about the turkey they're leaving local bipoc folks alone ?

@Camerondotca

they are yelling about the turkey in between breaths. they still hate other people, too, in general.

@chromogirl bugger. I was hoping it was like when I would get in a fight with a fash or transphobe (same thing I guess) on twitter; I noticed they tended to get so wrapped up with arguing with me that they'd leave everyone else alone for a bit. The people in your neighbourhood can multitask in their awfulness I guess.. that sucks.

@chromogirl I'm in a facebook group for our postal code here in Montreal. For a little while it was basically horror upon horror and lame polls and bullshit. Lately it's calmed down to "hey do any of you know a good plumber" or "I have 10 of thing X does anyone want them? ".

@Camerondotca

yeah! we have some of that too, which is why i still look at it. a lot of "please help me find my escape artist cat" and "my kid dropped her toy in the park" sorts of stuff.

just ALSO the do-nothings that want to stay safe indoors but still scream at everyone else to get off their lawn.
