Watching all these crypto companies crash one is struck (if one is Canadian) that Pierre's idea of putting a bunch of the canadian economy into crypto was even more batshit than it seemed at the time.
@Camerondotca it was totally insane. Even crazier is that the UCP will still occasionally bring up crypto and attracting crypto companies amid its on going collapse. Just tap out and move on.
@TheRuralProgressive I think they think it makes them cool and down with the youths. It's a more serious version of PP's obsession with stroking wood (which is meant to make that little prat seem "working class")
@Camerondotca agreed. PP is just a weasel who got lucky being able to ride into his role on the backs of the freedom convoy energy (though still a real concern).
The UCP is a party panicking. They know the oil party is coming to an end in the next decade as the globe goes to EVs and there is nothing they can do to stop it. They know the oil companies will start stabbing them in the back (like they are with orphan wells) and they are just grasping at anything now, be it crypto or “sovereignty”
@TheRuralProgressive he's like a meaner Sheila who somehow no one talked down.
@Camerondotca that is a pretty dead on description of him.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens in 2025. The only way he can win is if he swings the youth vote in his favour. Right now he is kind of sort of doing that because he is the only federal politician to talk about the housing crisis.
But if the NDP develop a serious plan (sadly unlikely) or the Liberals develop and start implementing a plan of their own (that involves building housing), I don’t think he has much of a chance.
@TheRuralProgressive bur he talks about it in such a stupid way.
I mean, the dude is deeply unserious and, because of how stupid the Canadian electorate is, and because FPTP, he could be our PM. And then, we will long for Harper.
