I just fell down one of my personal interest rabbit holes. if COIN air support is likely to continue to be important, and the A10 is costly/old, wtf are we not looking at slow, low, indestructible stuff? By which I mean Mosquito Mk2023! (but seriously the Super Tucano is right there). Anyway, I'm just oddly fixated on this topic.

part of my fixation is to do with Canada's fighter procurement process. It feels like we don't have enough money to get the fighters we need for a lot of things and I wonder if we wouldn't be better off with a few fast jets and a lot more slow stuff for overseas engagements. (the jets are to go and greet the Bears and remind them about airspace etc etc).
